In a globalized world, there is a growing number of writers who move from one country to another and start writing in the language of their host country. How do they experience this process? How does the culture of a country change as its literary voices become more diverse? What particular viewpoint do these authors bring at the international level? In recent decades, Germany has welcomed immigrants of various origins whose presence is growing in importance in the field of culture. Kosmopolis and the Goethe-Institut in Barcelona present Marjana Gaponenko and Abbas Khider, two of the writers to have been honoured with the Adelbert von Chamisso prize awarded by the Robert Bosch Foundation to promote foreign-born authors who write in German. Also present will be Klaus Hübner, of the Chamisso prize secretariat.
