Martha Escudero

Creator and programmer specialising in oral narrative. She is a founding member of the Association of Storytellers of Barcelona ANIN.

Martha Escudero (Mexico City) has lived in Barcelona since 1993 and is a professional storyteller. She narrates for all kinds of audiences. Her repertoire is based on traditional stories and adaptations of tales by authors. Some of her shows incorporate music and songs.

From 1997 until 2018 she was director and programmer of the stories for adults season at the Harlem Jazz Club in Barcelona. Since 2016, together with Arnau Vilardebò, she has worked organising the regular programme of seasons of oral storytelling shows Dit i Dit (www.ditidit.com). She is a founding member, and currently treasurer, of the Association of Storytellers of Barcelona (Associació de Narradores i Narradors de Barcelona – ANIN). She offers training and creative accompaniment for narrators and storytellers.

She has taken part in different festivals and storytelling seasons all over Spain and Portugal, as well as in France, Andorra, Germany, Colombia, Brazil and Mexico.
