Aitor Gabilondo

Aitor Gabilondo, born in San Sebastián in 1974, began his career as a screenwriter for programmes on Basque television (ETB) and continued on Canal + and on radio (Cadena Ser). He subsequently went on to work as a fictional scriptwriter on miniseries, TV movies and hit series (including Periodistas) with the most important TV channels and producers in the country.

In 2001, Aitor joined Mediapro and Carlton TV (United Kingdom) to develop fiction projects, including the TV movies Carta mortal, Mónica and La vida sigue aquí. Subsequently he worked as scriptwriter on television series, prominently including El Comisario, and Génesis: en la mente del asesino.

In 2007, with four partners, Aitor founded the contents producer Gingobiloba, which a year later joined Grupo Zeta. With Zeta he has participated in the creation and executive production of various television series such as Cazadores de hombres and El síndrome de Ulises. As a scriptwriter, he also co-wrote Marsella, the film by Belén Macías.

Having completed this phase, in 2010 he teamed up with César Benítez as a partner in the production company Plano a plano, thus beginning a new professional phase, and harvesting successes such as the series El Príncipe.
