Zata Kitowski

Zata Kitowski is the founder and director of PoetryFilm, an international research art project launched in 2002. The PoetryFilm project explores semiotics and meaning-making within the poetry film art form. PoetryFilm was founded through Zata’s personal practice as a writer and artist, and the PoetryFilm Archive contains over 600 poetry film artworks.

Since 2002, PoetryFilm has produced over 60 talks and events at cinemas, galleries, festivals and academic institutions, including Tate Britain, the ICA, Southbank Centre, Cannes Film Festival, O Miami, Curzon Cinemas, Warwick University, the National Film & Television School and the Royal College of Art. Zata has also judged poetry film prizes at the Southbank Centre and Zebra Festival in Berlin.
