Stefano Mancuso

Stefano Mancuso is one of the leading world authorities in the field of plant neurobiology. A lecturer at the University of Florence, he directs the International Laboratory of Plant Neurobiology and is a founding member of the International Society for Plant Signaling & Behavior.

He has published in over 250 scientific articles in international journals and various books, prominently including Brilliant Green: The Surprising History and Science of Plant Intelligence (Island Press, 2015), written together with journalist Alessandra Viola, and Biodiversi (‘Biodiverse’, Giunti Slow Food Editore, 2015) in which he converses with Carlo Petrini, founder of the Slow Food movement.
