Javier Olivares

Javier Olivares, born in Madrid in 1958, holds a degree in History (Complutense University) and a Master’s Degree in Aesthetics (Autonomous University of Madrid). He currently works teaching Scriptwriting on the Master’s Degree in Production at the Complutense University in Madrid and is Director of the Area of Culture of the IED Madrid and creator of the digital magazine Abre el Ojo. Olivares was an art critic for Lápiz and chief editor for La Luna in Madrid.

In theatre, he has adapted Vargas Llosa (Pantaleón y las Visitadoras), Pérez Galdós (Tristana) and has translated into Spanish work by Benet i Jornet (Aixó a un fill no se li fa and Soterrani). On TV he has been scriptwriter on Camino de Santiago, Los Serrano, Los hombres de Paco, Robles investigador, Pelotas and El secreto de la porcelana, and storyline director of the most recent seasons of Ventdelplá. He is also the creator of Infidels; Kubala, Moreno i Manchón; Isabel and Víctor Ros, and, with Pablo Olivares, of El Ministerio del Tiempo.

Olivares is founder of Cliffhanger TV.
