Jocelyn Pook (United Kingdom, 1960) studied viola at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. Over the course of her career she has collaborated with artists with a major international track record such as Peter Gabriel, Massive Attack, Nick Cave, Laurie Anderson, Ryuichi Sakamoto and PJ Harvey. In her projects she experiments with a wide variety of genres, which gives her great musical versatility and originality.

Pook has composed music for theatre, television and cinema, this being the medium in which she made her debut with the soundtrack for Kubrick’s film Eyes Wide Shut (1999). This earned her nominations for the Chicago Film Awards and the Golden Globes. Since then she has not ceased to compose music for films: Gangs of New York (2002) by Martin Scorsese, Habitación en Roma (2010) directed by Julio Medem, and King Charles III (2017) by Rupert Goold, which was awarded the BAFTA 2018 for the Best Original Soundtrack.

With her group the Jocelyn Pook Ensemble she offers an unclassifiable musical proposal in which she fuses string instruments and song, with traditional sounds from different cultures. The repertoire includes themes from the album Untold Things (2001), as well as a selection of her best compositions for soundtracks.
