Mercedes Morán holds a Law degree from the Autonomous University of Madrid and a Master’s degree in Intellectual Property Law from the Carlos III University of Madrid. She has been certified by the Spanish Patent and Trademark Office (OPEM) to work as an Industrial Property Agent since 2011.

She is the author of publications such as the Anuarios de Propiedad Intelectual y de Propiedad Industrial [Annuals of Intellectual Property and Industrial Property] (Tirant lo Blanch, 2021 and 2023). She also leads courses, seminars, and round tables and teaches for Master’s programmes, and she collaborates with the media on issues related to intellectual property, new technologies and cultural law. She has been awarded the Antonio Delgado Prize on two occasions, for the works Entidades de gestión: un sector regulado en el Derecho de la UE [Management Entities: A Regulated Sector in EU Law] (Instituto Autor, 2021) and Metabibliotecas y criptomuseos: nuevas formas de difusión del patrimonio cultural y su implicación en los derechos de propiedad intelectual [Metalibraries and Cryptomuseums: New Forms of Disseminating Cultural Heritage and Their Implications for Intellectual Property Rights] (Instituto Autor, 2023), among other prizes.
