Minyoung Kim is a composer and soloist from Seoul, who combines geomungo—a traditional Korean string instrument—with jeongga—traditional Korean singing based on poetry—and electronic music. PLASTIC (2025) is her first solo album, in which she explores the contradictions of human beings: their fragility and, at the same time, their immense potential, offering a modern and updated version of traditional Korean music.

She is also the founder and director of the duo ReMidas, characterized by compositions rooted in traditional music and the improvisational music of South Korea, creating a musical style that builds bridges between traditional music, jazz, and contemporary Korean music. Minyoung Kim is also a member of the multidisciplinary art group NAWI.
