Hamid Sulaiman is the author of works including the graphic novel Freedom Hospital. In this comic creation workshop, he’ll talk about the creative process that led him to become a graphic novelist, including a brief introduction to the history of comics and the different styles and worlds within comic culture and subcultures. You’ll learn about the craft of creating comics, including the basics of narrative, creating a story board and visual narration. You’re guaranteed to come out of the workshop with a page of comic on something that interests you, even if you’re not skilled at drawing or writing – and even if you’ve never read a comic in your life.
