Beatrice Alemagna is pure experimentation. This illustrator, one of the most innovative illustrators in the field of contemporary children’s literature, incorporates a wide variety of artistic techniques and compositional solutions, to create images that are closely associated with sensations and impressions. Her drawings convey profound and visceral feelings, like nostalgia, and a sensibility that connects directly with the child we all once were.

In the context of Kosmopolis 2025, the Children’s and Young Adult Literature Documentation Service at Biblioteques de Barcelona, together with Combel Editorial and A buen paso, is organizing a conversation focused on the work and creative processes of  Beatrice Alemagna, who will be talking with Anna Castagnoli, also an illustrator and proponent of the picture book format. It will be a unique opportunity to delve into the worldview and the universe of an author who has contributed to transforming the visual language of children’s books.
