Literature opens up worlds. It lets us explore limits, travel to unknown places and universes, notice what might have previously remain unseen, and connect with incomprehensible things. The power of words, which cross seas and cultures, is what that takes us on this unusual discovery. Where inertia leads to isolation and violence rears its head, words are still the revolutionary technology that can connect us and make us feel human again. This time around, Kosmopolis present a journey into poetic experience, a celebration of the senses, and a discovery of the other. Worlds open up to us, by sharing words.
From 22 to 26 October 22, the 13th edition of Kosmopolis will take place, the literature festival that moves beyond the boundaries of formats and disciplines to make words a driving force for shared reflections and emotions.
On this journey into the margins of the canon, Kosmopolis 2025 celebrates the expressive power and innovative spirit of graphic storytelling with a special program dedicated to contemporary comics. We discover the creative evolution of Korean literature, which has enthralled readers from all over the world, looking at the trends and authors from one of the most vibrant literary scenes of the moment. Closer to home, but equally unfamiliar, Kosmopolis 2025 opens a window onto Galician literature to explore its uniqueness, vitality, and potential for connection with other disciplines. And, as always, Kosmopolis brings together some of the great literary voices of our time through dialogues, readings, recitals, installations and concerts. At Kosmopolis, genres blend together, norms are called into question, and words – whether spoken, written, drawn, or performed on stage – become a tool for emotion and transformation.
