Eduard Sola earned a degree in screenwriting from ESCAC. The early works in his filmography include the scripts for Barcelona, nit d’estiu [Barcelona, Summer Night] (2013) and Tots els camins de Déu [All the Ways of God] (Gemma Ferraté, 2014), both nominated for the Gaudí Awards. He later co-wrote Quatretondeta (2016), Barcelona, nit d’hivern [Barcelona, Winter Night] (2015), also nominated for a Gaudí, and María (y los demás) [Maria (and the Others)] (2016), awarded Best Screenplay and Best Film at the Mestre Mateo Awards and nominated for the Feroz Prize. His most recent film scripts include La Virgen Roja [The Red Virgen] (Paula Ortiz, 2024) and Casa en flamas [A House on Fire] (Dani de la Orden, 2024). In the latter film, awarded the Gaudí and the Goya for Best Original Screenplay (2025), he reflects on family dynamics, toxic relationships, and the search for reconciliation in a Catalan upper-middle class context. His latest work, La meva amiga Eva [My Friend Eva] (2025), a film by Cesc Gay with whom he co-wrote the script, explores a couple in their 50s navigating a crisis.
He has also been involved with television series such as Querer (Movistar+), El cuerpo en llamas [Burning Body] (Netflix), and Benvinguts a la família [Welcome to the Family] (3Cat), among others, and he is the creator of the internet television series Mamen Mayo (2024), a dramatic comedy about a team that mediates legal conflicts over inheritances.
