Eduard Escoffet

A poet and entrepreneur, he was director of the Barcelona Poetry Festival

A poet, cultural agitator and lecturer in the master’s degree course in Sound Art at the University of Barcelona, he was co-director of Barcelona Poesia and also director of PROPOSTA, the festival of present-day poetic practice at the Centre of Contemporary Culture of Barcelona (CCCB, 2000 – 2004). With Eugeni Bonet, he was curator of the film cycle “Pròximament en aquesta pantalla sobre cinema lletrista” (Coming Soon on this Screen about Lettrist Cinema” at the Barcelona Museum of Contemporary Art (MACBA, 2005). He is co-author of the plays ¡Wamba va! (2005), Puaj./Ecs. (2005), and La belbel underground (2006), and has published the poetry collections Gaire (Almost, Pagès, 2012) and El terra i el cel (Land and Sky, LaBreu, 2013). With the electronic band Bradien, he has released the discs Pols (spa.RK, 2012) and Escala (spa.RK, 2015). He has worked with several aspects of poetry, although his main focus is sonorous poetry and live recitals in such projects as Barba Corsini. In addition to his activity in the Barcelona counterculture scene, he has presented his work at festivals and in poetry programmes around Europe, in China, the United States and several countries of Latin America. Moreover, he has worked as a consultant in the field of cultural policy.
