Daniel Cassany (Vic, 1961) is a prominent author in the recommended-reading lists of faculties of Communication. He studied Catalan Philology at the University of Barcelona and specialised subsequently in language teaching, which led him to undertake a PhD in Education Sciences and Dialectics.
A lecturer at the Pompeu Fabra University, he is the author of over a dozen books featuring broad and interdisciplinary analysis of the processes related with reading and writing. Highlights include La cuina de l’escriptura (Empúries, 1995), an essay that has accompanied several generations of students and Esmolar l’eina (Empúries, 2007), a practical textbook for (future) writing professionals.
