Jaume Ferrete Vázquez

An artist, performer and researcher, his creations are centred on sound

In his projects, Jaume Ferrete focuses on the policies or ideologies of voices and listening, through performance, websites, sound pieces, listening sessions, archives, workshops, text and conversations. He has worked in spaces and institutions such as the MACBA, the Mercat de les Flors, La Capella, the Tàpies Foundation, the CA2M in Madrid and the Q-02 in Brussels, among many others. He has received grants and awards from CONCA, OSIC, the Miquel Casablancas Prize, Generació 2016, as well as the BBVA Leonardo Grant for Researchers and Cultural Creators, among many others. Since 2008, he has been helping to coordinate the Sons de Barcelona sound pedagogy project, initiated by PHONOS / MTG at Pompeu Fabra University. He is currently conducting artistic research on the use of synthetic voices in performance art practices.
