María Llopis

María Llopis (Valencia, 1975) is an artist and feminist activist. Her work has been exhibited at the Artivistic in Montreal, the Montehermoso Cultural Centre in Vitoria-Gasteiz, the Volte Gallery in Bombay, the Panorama Festival in Rio de Janeiro, the Reina Sofia National Museum in Madrid, the Aubin Gallery in London and the Center for Sex and Culture in San Francisco. Between 2004 and 2007 she formed part of the collective “Girlswholikeporno”, with whom she presented an audiovisual performance at Sónar 2004.

Highlights in her professional work include workshops on art and feminism at Hangar and Arteleku, a post-pornography workshop at the City of Women Festival in Ljubljana and at the Royal Institute of Art in Stockholm and lectures on new representations of sexuality in art at various Spanish universities, at the Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne and at the Post Porn Politics Symposium in Berlin.

She has published two books: El posporno era eso (Melusina, 2010) and Maternidades subversivas (Txalaparta, 2015).
