Born in Lugo, María Reimóndez holds a PhD in Translation and Interpreting and specializes mainly in topics related to translation, linguistic hegemony, feminism, decolonial theories, and LGBTQ+ perspectives. As a writer, she has touched on all genres – narrative, poetry, theatre, and essay – although she is mainly known as a novelist. Her work includes more than 40 published titles, including Dende o conflito [From the War Zone] (Xerais, 2014), Galicia en bus [Galicia by Bus] (Xerais, 2018), Cobiza [Greed] (Xerais, 2021), and Fúria [Fury] (Xerais, 2023).

Her work, which has received awards such as the 2014 Xerais Prize, the Johan de Carballeira Prize and the 2023 Jules Verne Prize, has been translated into Italian, French, Spanish, Catalan, and Tamil. In 1998, she founded the NGO for feminist cooperation Implicadas no Desenvolvimento, focused on cooperation with women from the global south, especially India, and in 2001 she founded the Galician Association of Translators and Interpreters (AGPTI).
