Mon Mas studied Social Work and exercised in the field of mental health and drug addiction. In 2004, she did her first oral storytelling workshop and, in parallel, started her training in theatre, clown and mime work. Two years later, she decided to devote herself full-time to the creation and representation of stories and started to do research into stories in the oral tradition and illustrated picture books.
She currently forms part of the team of storytellers on the Oncology ward at the Vall d’Hebron Hospital, a project run by AFANOC & ANIN. She runs reading clubs at public libraries and schools and literary meetings with young people where illustrated picture books are always the protagonist. She coordinates Lletres al Mar (virtual reading club, Barcelona-Medellín) and is a satellite for Barcelona reading city with the project “Explosive Reads” for secondary schools.
In 2017, she created DEBAT A BAT, a project for the XBM (network of municipal libraries of Catalonia). This is a project with capsules of art, literature and philosophy for young people aged 12 to 16 years, with the aim of creating a space for debate, reflection and creation based on the illustrated picture book.
