Born in Terrassa, Matilde Martínez Sallés holds a degree in Hispanic Philology from the University of Barcelona and is a Sworn Translator for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. For many years she was a secondary school teacher, an occupation that she combined with that of training foreign language teachers in various master’s and postgraduate courses at the Autonomous University of Barcelona. From 1996 to 2002, she was a technical advisor to the Ministry of Education in Brussels, where she founded and coordinated the magazine Mosaico. She is the author of language manuals for learning Spanish and French aimed mainly at teenagers, published by Editorial Difusión.
