Born in Markina-Xemein, Biscay, Nerea Ibarzabal Salegi started singing improved songs at a very young age. She is the current Biscay champion in bertsolaritza and was a finalist in the last national championship. She was a member of the group Txakur Gorria, focused on self-publishing and collective artistic creation. As a writer, she is the author of the children’s book Jakelinen egunerokoa [Jakelin’s Diary] (Ikas Elkar, 2022). In 2022, she published her first novel for adults, Bar Gloria (Susa, 2022; consonni, 2024, in Spanish).
