Toni Pou

A physicist and science journalist, he is head of the science supplement of the Catalan daily Ara and author of the book On el dia dorm amb els ulls oberts (Where the Day Sleeps with Open Eyes, Empúries, 2011; also published in Spanish as Donde el día duerme con los ojos abiertos, Anagrama, 2013), which was awarded the Godó Prize for Reporting and the Prisma Prize for the best popular science book published in Spain. He is co-director of the postgraduate degree in scientific popularising at the University of Vic, where he is also a lecturer, and also a lecturer in scientific communication at the International University of Catalonia. Moreover, he is co-founder of the company Eduscopi which specialises in scientific popularising, and during six years was curator of the CosmoCaixa travelling exhibition The Arctic is Breaking Up. He works on a regular basis with publishing houses, entities, and institutions like the Barcelona City Council and the Government of Catalonia in order to make the ideas and values of science more accessible to a wider public.
