Hope Jahren (Austin, Minnesota, 1969), one of the world’s 100 most influential people according to Time magazine, has received three Fulbright Awards for her work in geobiology and is the first woman and fourth scientist overall to win both the Macelwane Medal and the Donath Medal. Chosen by Popular Science magazine as one of the most brilliant young scientists of 2005, she has been a lecturer and independent researcher at various US universities.
