Marta Marco

A graduate in Acting from the Theatre Institute of Barcelona, Marta Marco also studied Journalism and is a trained musician. She began her professional career at the age of nineteen with a French-Italian Commedia dell’arte company, after which she appeared in the main theatres of Catalonia, among them the National Theatre of Catalonia and the Teatre Llliure in Barcelona, as well as elsewhere in Spain and Europe. She has worked with some of the great names of contemporary theatre including the actresses Anna Lizarán, Núria Espert, and Rosa Maria Sardà, the playwright Sergi Belbel, and the directors Oriol Broggi, Lluís Pasqual, Georges Lavaudant, Sílvia Munt, and Julio Manrique, inter alia. She has received several awards for her work as a theatre and musical actress.

Since 2002, she has been combining stage work with her participation in series and miniseries shown on Catalan and Spanish television. Notable among these are Ventdelplà, La Duquesa, Pelotes, and Merlí. She has also worked in cinema, with films including Mala Uva (2004), Fuerte Apache (2007), Xtrems (2009), Meublé (2011), and Sis nits d’agost (2022). Directed by Ventura Durall, the latter film received the Gaudí Award for the Best Television Film. Her most recent works in theatre are Bèsties, which was premiered in 2023, and La Trena, which will return to the stage in 2024.
