Challenging Complexity: How Publications Change What it Means to be a Digital Library

Caylin Smith (Canada, 1988) holds degrees in English (cultural studies) and moving image preservation and curation. She is an audiovisual archivist, digital archivist, and project manager with experience working for libraries, museums, and archives in Canada, the Netherlands, the United States, and the United Kingdom.
Currently based at the British Library, where she is the project manager for the UK Legal Deposit Libraries. Her work focuses on supporting digital publications that have not yet been collected under UK legal deposit.
Caylin Smith manages, and is a lead researcher on, the Emerging Formats project. This research project is investigating the collection management needs of complex digital publications such as eBook mobile apps, web-based interactive narratives, and structured data.
