Based on the best-seller by Benjamin Black (John Banville), this television adaptation takes an in-depth look at the life of Quirke, the Chief Pathologist at the City of Dublin’s morgue. Lover of silence, he prefers being alone to the company of his colleagues. His profession provides him with one of his great pleasures: inquisitive by nature, he is fascinated with deciphering the secrets hidden by dead bodies. A detective by accident, Quirke goes deep into the depths of Dublin and in his investigations discovers that the secrets that lie there are more connected with his life than he could ever imagine. Little by little, he will find himself forced to face the demons of his past while unravelling a mystery that has something to do with his own family.
