In 1917 the first edition of The Walk by Robert Walser was published. In this short novel the author updates the figure of the flâneur, a thinking stroller who as he walked analysed the impressions caused by the surrounding environment. K17 pays tribute to the novel’s centenary with three Walserian walks and with a discussion about how the text – and its representation and amplification on the street – breaks the boundaries between reality and fiction and between memories and the registering of these memories. Read this article to find out more.
