Mireia Estrada Gelabert is a cultural manager and secondary school teacher who is trained in Philology. Her natural area of work is somewhere between creation, education, and social challenges, especially those related to cultural diversity. In 2011, together with the writer Ahmed Ghazali, for whom she is Catalan translator, she founded the association Jiwar Creació i Societat, an international residence for artists and creation platform. For eight years, Jiwar welcomed artists of all disciplines from around the world and with a special interest in Mediterranean cultures, and it is currently working with projects linked with education, creation, and diversity.

She has created educational resources connected with interculturality, which have been developed in Catalonia, Spain, and Morocco, and is also author of the book Sense sucre (Without Sugar, Ara Llibres, 2022; Cuatro Lunas, 2024), an account of her personal relationship with Morocco, a country she has known for decades through family ties. Here, she uses anecdotes and reflections with an ironic touch to talk about the contradictions of her interstitial status, while also inviting readers to question themselves about how they see otherness. She is director of the podcast Derives literàries. (Literary Drifts).
