Clara Fiol

Singer, composer, poet, and rhapsodist.

Clara Fiol Dols sings and recites as well as writing and working as a bookseller in Palma de Mallorca. She is a member of the roots music group Marala and has worked in other innovative areas where she has received several prizes and awards. She trained in classical dance at the Mallorca Conservatory and has a higher degree in jazz singing from the Taller de Músics in Barcelona. She has also studied Humanities and Cultural Management.

In the domain of music, she was awarded the Enderrock Prize for Best new Balearic Artist and, in 2019, the Bartomeu Rosselló-Pòrcel Prize for her contributions, with her music, to Mallorcan traditions and original song. She has released the albums Silueta (Silhouette, 2018), A trenc d’alba (At Daybreak, Marala, U98 Music, 2020) and Jota de morir (Jota for Dying, Marala, Propaganda pel fet, 2022). She has also published the volumes of poetry Miloques i Rabasses (Owls and Stumps, Documenta Balear, 2018) and Còrpora (Body, Adia Edicions, 2021).
