Cristina Xifra

A physicist specialising in information security systems, she has published stories and plays in the fantasy genre.

Cristina Figure earned a degree in Physical Sciences from the University of Barcelona and specialises in computer systems. She currently works as an information security specialist in the audio-visual sector and is a regular collaborator to the “El Turmix” section of the digital cultural magazine Week&Sabadell. She has trained as a writer at the Ateneu Barcelonès School of Writing and at the Sala Beckett International Drama Workshop. In 2020, she participated in the anthology Extraordinàries. Noves autores de l’insòlit, published by Editorial Males Herbes. That same year, she also published her first play, Perduda (Edicions Balèria, 2020), which received the Joan Guasp Prize awarded by the town of Consell in 2020 and the “Imagina un amor” prize exaequo from the QLiT Festival of queer literature organised by the Association of Writers in the Catalan Language. She is also a member of the collective “Frikípuls.”, founded in 2018 by authors who love the fantasy genre who met in the course on fantastic literature taught by Ricard Ruiz at the Ateneu Barcelonès Writing School.
