Marta Nin

A translator and interpreter, she moves in the linguistic realms of Russian, English, and Italian.

Marta Nin is a translator who studied Translation and Interpretation at the Autonomous University of Barcelona, and who has travelled the world. Over the years, she has worked as a translator and interpreter from Russian, English, Spanish, and Catalan in England, Russia, Syria, Jordan, Italy, Malta, and Mexico. She was awarded the Critics’ Prize for Valencian Writers in 2021 and the Nollegiu Narrativa Prize for Best Translated Work in 2021 for her Catalan translation, I del cel van caure tres pomes (Three Apples Fell from the Sky, Comanegra, 2021) of the novel by the Armenian writer Narine Abgaryan.

She has combined translation and interpretation with foreign language teaching and, later, with journalism. She has worked as a foreign correspondent for several media outlets including TV3, Serra d’Or, COM Ràdio, and Catalunyareligio.cat. She has also published two fictional works in Catalan, Dones en camí (Women on the Way, Abadia de Montserrat, 2007) and El dol del lliri (The Mourning of the Lily, El Toll Editorial, 2012).
