Valentí Sallarès

Valentí Sallarès is a senior researcher at the Institut de Ciències del Mar, of which he is also the director. His research expertise is on marine geophysics. In particular, he uses use active source seismology data to study the structure and dynamic processes occurring at 1) extensional and convergent continental margins, with particular emphasis on subduction earthquakes, and 2) the ocean interior, specifically the characterization of meso-scale structures and internal wave dynamics. He also works on the development of seismic tomography methods.
